ChatGPT: A Powerful Tool with Limitations and Risks

Like many people around the world, I have been intrigued by the introduction of ChatGPT3. Now Open AI has introduced ChatGPT4.  Truthfully, I have been using AI content support for over a year, but previous tools always relied on me starting with something. They combed the internet for relevant phrases and stitched them together to create content.

ChatGPT is different because it is somewhat generative, but there are numerous caveats. Firstly, it is built on limited training data and has the potential for biases that exist in society. Secondly, given that 2.5 quintillion bytes of data are generated daily, ChatGPT is missing a lot of information. Finally, after playing with it a bit, I have come to the conclusion that I still need to keep a close eye on the output. Sometimes the citations are bizarre or the statements made are not exactly in the right context. In other words, don't expect it to take over the world just yet. The challenge is that it presents reliable information, though the output can be very wrong.

There are many limitations to ChatGPT, which may make you wonder whether it is worth using or just a shiny new toy. The truth is that it does offer some benefits, such as improving content you have already drafted, changing the content readability, and summarizing. These are common tasks that can take a lot off your plate. I have also used it to generate an itinerary, draft ideas for a milestone birthday, generate steps for a complex task, and create social media copy for an existing event.

You may be wondering how you can be confident that something you are reading was generated by a person and not a bot. One thing you will start seeing from me is the infusion of my natural voice and more of my interests in my blog content. Would an AI attempt to marry fashion design and operational effectiveness in a blog post? I suspect not. Know that those ideas are all mine!
